Sofia Waste Recycling Plant Celebrates First 100 Working Days

The waste recycling plant build by the ECOBULPACK company in the Sofia's "Filipovtsi" neighborhood had recycled a total of 2 100 000 kg of waste for the first 100 days after its opening. This data was announced Thursday during the open-doors day in the plant, organized by ECOBULPACK. The recycled waste from the yellow containers (for metal, plastic and paper) is 1,200,000 kg while the recycled waste from the green ones (glass) is 900,00 kg. 80% of the waste volume from the yellow containers and 100% of the waste from the green ones have been recycled. Only 14% of the yellow containers waste have not been suitable for recycling and have been redirected for deposition. During the first 100 days of the functioning of the plant it has become clear that its capacity can reach 190,000 tons per year. 35 tones of glass can be recycled during one shift at the plant. Vidio Videv, Executive Director of ECOBULPAK stated Thursday that the company intends to participate in the public tenders of the Sofia Municipality as a waste recycling company and plans to open recycling installations in Plovdiv, Yambol and Targovishte in the very near future.
